Since leaving university I have had a passion for creating webpages. I have taught myself the major aspects of (X)HTML, CSS and PHP with MySQL, creating valid, cross-browser websites. My development has taken me from simple, static HTML pages to fully dynamic content managed sites.
Below are websites I have completed with a description of what they were designed for and how the central management system achieved this goal.
Twinkle by Anna showcases the handcrafted, beaded jewellery of Anna Bolger. She wanted somewhere people could visit to see the pieces she had made in the past and link to an external website where her current pieces are available to purchase.
The website contains a simple central management system allowing Anna to update the welcome message, add news articles and images and also remove any that are no longer required.
On returning from a three week trip to the East Coast of Australia last summer, I wanted a quick and easy way to share my photos with family and friends so I created this website which contains around 180 photos split between the main destinations we visited on our trip.
The central management system allows albums to be created which will create their own links and have pictures associated with them. Images have space for a small comment to be added which appears when the image is enlarged. All aspects of the site can be taken down without having to be deleted.
Adrian Jones is a professional chef with a career taking him to head chef jobs at top London kitchens. He wanted a website where he could post his curriculum vitae, reviews and post adverts for potential work.
The central management system allows him to manage his CV by adding qualifications, previous places of employment and his training. It also allows the contact information to be updated along with the covering letter found on the mainpage.
